“Smooth And Stable”
Is your life unstable?
Is it hard to make sense of the disorder, the uncertainty, the “bad hand” you’ve been dealt?
Do you desperately hope that life will change for the better?
Do you wonder if your life can ever be stable, peaceful, or happy?
Good news: there is hope—your life can be better! It requires one thing: Trust (or keep trusting) God not yourself.
Wise King Solomon wrote, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV). The Hebrew meaning of “straight” can also mean, “smooth” or “pleasing,” which are ways to describe, “stable.” Life can be smooth and pleasant when we trust God’s Word and make it our authority for life.
Maybe you’re debating, “Trust God’s Word for all my life decisions? That’s out-of-touch with science and society! Won’t I be ridiculed, shamed, or cancelled? Won’t I miss out on opportunities?
Possibly, yes. But think about it: much of what is called “science” is often myth and speculation. Scientific theories are subject to, and often do, change, especially when the presumptions exclude Almighty God.
What society considers fashionable or important changes with the wind!
But God’s Word does not change—because the True God, the Creator of all things, does not change. So, you can trust God with every aspect of your life.
Trust God to be your firm foundation when everything else is crumbling.
Trust Jesus in the middle of the storms of your life, because He cannot be shaken.
Believe God and He will tell you how to live in a way that brings you joy and peace, as He intends for you.
The Psalmist wrote, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging” (Psalm 46:1-3 NIV).
Today, if you’re struggling to make sense of life, if you’re longing to have peace in your life, Read the Bible believing it is true. Submit to God and obey Him! Let Jesus Christ be your ever-present help in times of trouble. He will guide you through your storms and make your way smooth and stable.
