Are Your Feet Beautiful?

Beautiful feet have nothing to do with sandals. They have everything to do with where—and to whom—you are willing to go.

Do you like your feet? 

According to the Bible, your most beautiful feature isn’t your eyes or your smile.

It’s your feet.

Romans 10:15 (NIV) says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” 

How can feet be more beautiful than the words we speak?

The answer: God is more interested in you being present and making an effort than in the eloquence of your words.  

Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, frequently reminded us that success in witnessing is not eloquent preaching but simply, “sharing Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God.”

Neither your words nor mine will likely change the direction of a person’s heart. But when you share what the Bible says and how it has changed your life, God promises that His Word, “will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11 NIV)

Why is it important for you to share your faith?

The Gospel matters because every person faces the reality of sin and its consequences—death and eternal separation from God (Romans 3:23; 6:23). 

When you think how much time and billions of dollars are spent to keep people healthy, cure illness, and fight cancer—all to extend this fragile existence a few more days or years, doesn’t it make sense to alert people to their deadly spiritual condition and give them the Good News that God will give all who believe in Him the gift of eternal life?

Let it break our hearts that people are walking in spiritual darkness! The light of the Gospel, is: Christ died for our sins, taking upon Himself the death due us, so that, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”(Romans 10:13)

That’s why Paul asks, “How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent?” (Romans 10:14-15a)

Paul’s progression is clear:           

• People need to hear. 
• Someone must speak. 
• Someone must go.

God changes hearts. We simply share the good news and leave the results with Him.

It’s not our job to cajole or force people to believe. Our responsibility is to go when God sends us, help send others where we can’t go, and faithfully speak God’s Word to the people He places in our lives. “As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’” 

Today, ask God to make your feet beautiful. Go where He sends you. Share the good news of Jesus Christ. Then trust Him to do what only He can do.
