You Are Known and Named
You’re not a statistic or forgotten in the crowd. Through Jesus Christ, God knows your name and calls you His own.
With more than eight billion people in the world, have you ever wondered whether God even knows who you are?
If God were like us, keeping track of so many people would be impossible.
But God isn’t like us. He is not a man (Numbers 23:19) and His ways are vastly beyond our capabilities (Isaiah 55:8-9). Although He can do “immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Ephesians 3:20), He assures us that we are known by name. Through the prophet Isaiah, God says:
“But now thus says the Lord,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.’”
(Isaiah 43:1 ESV)
The Lord says, “Do not fear.”
At first, you may think, “I’m not afraid.”
But beneath the surface, many of us carry a quieter fear—that we’ll be forgotten, overlooked, or lost in the crowd.
This was the fear Isaiah addressed. The ancient Israelites were exiled. They were afraid that they would lose their national identity. Even worse, they feared that because they had been taken to foreign lands by force, God would lose track of them.
Do you ever feel like that?
“Fear not,” says the Lord God, “I have called you by name.”
Purposely embodying this truth that every person is known by God, the ministry of My360Project.org looks for people who are often lost in the crowd. They provide shoes, create jobs, wash feet, and bring health and hope to underprivileged communities. I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside them in Mexico, and they’ve carried that same ministry to Uganda and beyond.
My360’s founder, Pastor Darryl Carnley, puts it this way: “Every child receives a shoe made for them, and we send their photo back to the person who gave it. Nobody is a statistic.”
That same dignity extends to the artisans who handcraft each pair of shoes. They aren’t viewed as charity cases but as partners.
As Darryl often says, “They’re partners, not projects.”
That is also how God sees you. The same God who says, “I have called you by name,” says to everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ, “You are Mine.”
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus redeemed you—not as another project to fix, but as someone He loves. In Christ, you are never just another face in the crowd. He knows your name, calls you His own, and gives you both identity and dignity.
Today, thank God that you’re neither a number nor lost in the crowd. Through Jesus Christ, He has redeemed you, called you by name, and made you His own.
