In Christ You Are Radiant
God doesn’t merely save you from sin—in Christ, He restores what sin damaged, giving you a new identity and purpose.
“In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God” (Psalms 62:7 NKJV).
Have you ever looked at yourself and wondered, “Why did God create me?” I’m not talking about your appearance, but your heart. God calls us to be holy, to do good, and to live righteously. Yet if you’re honest, there are moments when your choices reveal just how far you fall short.
At least, that’s been my experience.
For years I assumed most people were naturally better than I was. Then I read David’s confession: “For Your name’s sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity, for it is great” (Psalm 25:11). If a man after God’s own heart recognized his desperate need for mercy, perhaps my struggle wasn’t unique after all.
God did not create us as robots incapable of choosing Him. Love requires trust, and trust requires a choice. Humanity chose rebellion, but God chose mercy. Everyone who places their faith in Christ discovers that the God who has always been Creator, King, and Judge also becomes Savior, Refuge, and Strength.
David celebrates something even greater: “In God is my salvation and my glory.”
God doesn’t merely save us from sin; He restores what sin damaged. The glory is in Christ. God gives us a new identity, a new purpose, and the privilege of reflecting His character. Jesus prayed, “The glory that You have given Me I have given to them” (John 17:22). That glory isn’t only a promise for heaven. It begins the moment we belong to Him.
We could never earn that gift. Even our best efforts fall short of God’s holiness (Isaiah 64:6). Yet through Christ, “He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10). Our failures no longer define us. His righteousness does.
When you belong to Christ, your worth is no longer measured by your past, your reputation, or your accomplishments. You are God’s child, clothed in Christ’s righteousness and becoming a reflection of His glory. As Paul writes, “…that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Today, stop measuring yourself by yesterday’s failures. Lift your eyes to Christ and proclaim with David, “In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.”
