And he said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.’” Luke 11:2 ESV

The party in power sets the rules. Different cities have different rules, as do different states and nations. When you pray, “Your kingdom come,” you are acknowledging that God is in power and has the right to set the rules. “Yes, that’s right,” you agree, but why, then, do you allow yourself to use coarse language; impure jokes, actions, music and movies; relative ethics; debt enslaving spending sprees stimulated by greed and coveting; and every other sin condemned in the Bible? If you want an abundant life, unlock this truth: God rules! There’s no reason for me, or you, to pray for God to rule over our State, or Nation, or over the globe until I am willing for him to rule over me. And when you recognize you have been transferred from darkness into the kingdom of God’s Son, you become an Ambassador for Christ. Your behavior reflects God’s Kingdom’s rules. Oh friend, doesn’t this stir your heart to humbly submit to God’s rule? Earnestly desire his kingdom come! “And he said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come.’” Luke 11:2 ESV

. . . “Jesus gave a blueprint for prayer that results in an abundant life . . . which you experience when Christ sets the rules in your life.”
