“If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself.” 1 John 5:9-10 ESV

Hearing God’s voice is like using the RF gain on an old CB radio to clear up atmospheric interference, allowing the desired signal to come in clearly without noise. Your desires, wishes, wants, hopes, fears, doubts; the negativity of people; the philosophy of the world; the whispers of the adversary are noise that compete with God’s voice. Without waiting on God, sitting quietly, patiently, meditating on the clarity of his Word, you will miss God’s voice and instead latch on to the wrong signal. You will be greatly disappointed. But there is a certainty that comes with the voice of God—it will never disappoint, never fail, it is always fulfilled. God has placed a filter in us: it is the absence of fear, the presence of love, and it resonates as no other voice can in your heart. It is the Holy Spirit’s testimony in you. “If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself.” 1 John 5:9-10 ESV

. . . “To hear God’s voice, wait on God, sit quietly, patiently, meditating on the clarity of his Word.”
