Texting Hallelujah!

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NIV

After I lost an election to the State Legislature, I struggled to find motivation. I wrote, “So, I lost. What’s Next? I recall Hagar in the wilderness; destitute, alone, but with the God who sees. ‘Does God see me?’ In my spirit, I heard God’s voice, ‘Let me give you an example you can relate with…’ and he told me what to do. ‘Solitaire?’ I replied, ‘Lord, are you serious?’ So, I played and the game went fast. I was winning! Then I ran out of cards. ‘What do you do when success propels you forward into the barrier of defeat?’ God asked me. ‘Lord?’ I asked. ‘Play another hand,’ he instructed me. I did and was almost defeated again, but I took a step back and found the solution.”  When life comes crashing down, rejoice in the God who sees you, the Mighty Warrior who saves you, the Loving Savior who rejoices over you with singing! Step back, play another hand. God is with you! “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves.
