“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men … It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Colossians 3:23,24 ESV
Have you ever felt you couldn’t take on anything more? You wonder how your schedule got so full—was it that you just couldn’t say no, that if you didn’t take on the commitments, who would? Before taking on a commitment, do you ask God what his priorities are? God doesn’t ask you to do everything, but he does require you to do whatever you do “as for the Lord.” When you take on commitments simply expecting to look good, your priorities get messed up, your relationships suffer, your time gets out of whack, and you get bogged down by stress that God never intended you to carry. Today, take a moment to assess your priorities, your use of time, and especially, take time to pray. Seek God’s wisdom and priorities for you—do what is good, what is best. “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men … It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.” Colossians 3:23,24 ESV
