“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. . . And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18, 20 ESV
God, the Creator, is Almighty—Omnipotent. What does it mean to have absolute power? For one, everything is effortless and you don’t need either rest or replenishment. Yes, God has all the power to meet every single need you have—but why do you only want God to do things for you, completely oblivious to the fact that Almighty God desires to give HIMSELF to you? You want a spouse, or financial help, or healing, or something for someone else, but Jesus Christ, God-in-flesh-with-us (Immanuel), came to be a living part of your life today. Once you receive a gift, it decays—but once you truly receive Jesus Christ, he is with you absolutely, forever! Don’t seek the power, seek the Person who will be with you FOREVER. “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. . . And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18, 20 ESV
. . . “Don’t seek the power, seek the Person who will be with you FOREVER.”

A.B. Simpson understood and reflected, “Once it was the blessing, Now it is the Lord; Once it was the feeling, Now it is His Word. Once His gifts I wanted, Now the Giver own; Once I sought for healing, Now Himself alone.”
