“Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.” Matthew 6:9 NLT

A.W. Tozer captured the difference between science and religion. To summarize him, science observes patterns and declares them “natural laws,” which enables prediction and achievement. It is this “trustworthiness of God’s behavior…that is the foundation of all scientific truth.” Religion, however, “is concerned not with the footprints of God along the paths of creation, but with the One who treads those paths. Religion is interested primarily in the One who is the source of all things, the master of every phenomenon.” God is not an abstract force. He revealed himself as the “I Am,” the self-caused cause who delights in having a positive relationship with you this very day, no matter how you’ve treated him. Jesus taught his disciples God’s most cherished name, “Father.” Take time to observe the character of God around you today—spend time getting to know him! “Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.” Matthew 6:9 NLT

. . . “God’s most cherished name is ‘Father.’”
